Daniel MunozDaniel Munoz, born in Paris, has already 28 years experience in the nightlife and restaurant business. In 1984 he started his career in Ibiza, the party island of choice. He was founder and owner of “Croissant Show”, where clubbers after a heavy night of partying came to have breakfast. He also owned among others the “Don José” in Ibiza Town (now known as “Lime Light”) and the disco Zaloc. His career continued on as manager of some big clubs in Ibiza like Angels, Kiss and Space. In 1993 he came to Belgium, Hasselt, to open the first Tex-Mex restaurant / club under the name “Caramba” and “Caramba Swing”. In 1996 he organized the first, famous party flights to Ibiza. He gained his first residency at Space on Wednesdays in 1996, followed by the Sundays in Pacha in 1997 and 1998 and in 1999 the Thursdays in Space. In 1999 he started his 2nd business in Hasselt “Cafe Latino” a Latin-american-inspired Restaurant/ cafe, which is currently still very popular. In 2002-2003 followed number 3 and 4: Transit-East, an entirely new concept and a real hype in the genre of the small clubs / dance bars. With room for 400 to 500 people, Daniel nevertheless succeeded to get emerging names to his club like Axwell, Eric Prydz, Kenny Hawkes, Funkerman, Sven van Hees, Arsenal, Sweet Coffee, ... He also started a classy restaurant called “Bouchon”. The restaurant served a trendy, but very decent kitchen with a French base and Fusion influences. An entry in the Gault-Millau came quickly. At the same time Daniel also organized several annual events, like Festival del Sol, DJ-city and Hasselt Beach. In 2006 he was asked to put his know-how into a new concept, a new Mega disco. A year later, in September 2007 the now famous Noxx Antwerp opened its doors, a unique concept and design in the Benelux. From its opening in September 2007 to October 2009, Daniel was manager and managing director of Noxx Antwerp. In less then 1,5 years he managed to get the club on position 43 in the Famous World Top 100 club list from DJ Mag. The highest ranking for a Belgian Club ever. |
